On the mountain tops

On the mountain tops

Mauritius is often associated with its blue lagoons, of hypnotic beauty. But this small tropical country is also full of evergreen mountains, each more beautiful than the next. On this international mountain day, we will explore the beauty these mountains have to offer.

Mauritius in a green suit

As you enter Mauritius' lands, prepare to be amazed by landscapes that are very different from those you will find on its coasts. Vegetation and beds of rocks of all kinds await your visit.

Among the main mountains of the island, discover the Corps de Garde mountain in Plaines Wilhems district. This volcanic mountain is known to shelter endemic animal and floral species, in its nature reserve of multiple hectares. From its summit, admire the view onto the cities of Rose Hill and Quatre Bornes, as well as onto the blue coasts of Tamarin and Flic en Flac.

Le Morne Brabant, located in the Southwest of Mauritius, is probably the most famous mountain in Mauritius and has become a true national symbol. Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008, Le Morne offers a superb view onto the turquoise blue lagoon of the South coast. A breathtaking final setting and a touching atmosphere, recalling the escape route of the slaves.

Original in its appearance, BARNES Mauritius' favourite is the Pieter Both mountain. Being the second highest peak on the island, the mountain is known for its lush slopes, panoramic views and, most importantly, its supreme rock. This ultimate element of the mountain seems victoriously balanced, and is often compared to a human figure.

Thus, settling in Mauritius implies enjoying a breathtaking view of magnificent mountains. These green areas offer countless activities. Nature lovers will find their happiness in hiking, which can be done on marked and accessible routes. Thrill lovers will be happy to explore the peaks of the Mauritian mountains, trekking, trailing, climbing or abseiling.

The Lion Mountain, in Eastern Mauritius

Eastern Mauritius is a privileged region. An attractive area to invest or settle for an indefinite period. In addition to having splendid beaches, the Mauritian East Coast offers you an amazing view of the Lion Mountain, located in the more southerly part, near Vieux Grand Port. From its peak, enjoy a view of the villages and transparent waters of the East coast.

To enjoy a breathtaking view of the Eastern mountain range and an ideal location, between ocean and golf course, BARNES Mauritius suggests this luxurious 6-bedroom IRS villa, located in the high-end residential complex of Anahita, in Beau Champ, Mauritius.
